Before 2009 slips away, I'm trying to get as much art work done as possible. Along with January comes the end of a relaxing vacation, and I return to work. For a while there will be less fiber art opportunities for me. However, January also brings more painting in another art class. Also, there's more light every day, so we're headed towards longer days....it'll just be about a month before we'll have light til 5:00 or so!
Yesterday, I got some great pictures of ice. Might as well take advantage of what is in our own backyards!

Labels: fabrics were either silkscreened, stenciled or sprayed w/ bleach...or all three.

New Work,September, 2009
Well, we're just a few hours away from the sunniest month of the year, October. It's a great month for color and atmosphere in New England.
Recently I was working outdoors with bleach and tried some interesting discharging. I had silk screen some fabrics and then thought, Why not try discharging, too?"
The answer would be, let the paint dry a wee bit more than just overnight...bleach is really strong.
It was a blast, though, trying out some of the different and not- all- black-cotton- fabrics I had.
I'll get some pics up soon.
